Stock Upgrades: Love in the Air for Southwest


Wall Street ratings agencies set the tone for today's stock market.

MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL Movado (MOV) continued to perform like a Swiss watch, up 1.76% on the day the Alpine land - still celebrating Roger Federer's Wimbledon win - reported an unemployment rate of 2.9%. Some countries have all the luck.

In analyst action an upgrade of Sirona Dental Systems (SIRO) sent it 1.92% higher and provided an early birthday present for Sofia Vergara. The actress, who today turns 40, once wanted to become a dentist so guys, get flossing.

No top-tier economic data due today but expect earnings announcements out of Helen of Troy (HELE), Hi-Tech Pharmacal (HITK), Shaw Group (SHAW), Wolverine Worldwide (WWW), and Zep Inc. (ZEP).

Celanese (CE): CE is boosted to Buy from Neutral at UBS.

Huron Consulting (HURN): Shares are hoisted to Buy from Hold at Deutsche Bank.

Southwest Airlines (LUV): The stock is higher ahead of the open on an upgrade to Buy from Neutral at Sterne Agee.

Southwestern Energy (SWN): Shares are upgraded to Buy from Hold at Stifel Nicolaus, whose target price is $38. It boasts an attractive valuation relative to other dry gas names.

TD Ameritrade (AMTD): AMTD is taken to Hold from Sell at BGB Securities.

T. Rowe Price (TROW): TROW is taken to Buy from Neutral by Bank of America-Merrill Lynch.

WPP Group plc (WPPGY): The British ad giant gets upgraded to Overweight from Neutral at JPMorgan.
