Stock Upgrades: TomTom in Cruise Control

Wall Street ratings agencies set the tone for today's stock market.

MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL Mannatech (MTEX), maker of nutritional supplements and weight-management products, jumped 19.37% to top the Nasdaq (^IXIC), a day late and a dollar short for that poor pedicab driver whose "whale hail" passengers caused his livelihood to come crashing down. Money talked at Harbinger Group (HRG), with the manufacturer of Miracle Ear and hearing aid batteries gaining 11.67%. A new study showed hospital noise can disrupt sleep - especially in a Tempur-Pedic (TPX), which imploded another 8.34% - but investors in the sector were too busy counting cash to care about counting sheep. If you need a cave to hide out during Apple Inc.'s (AAPL) "thermonuclear war" with its arch nemesis, don't count on Google's (GOOG) navigation to get you there after the Cupertino company announced it will replace the latter's default maps in its iPhones and iPads. It's another quiet day for economic data but Casey's General Stores (CASY), FactSet Research Systems (FDS), and Michael Kors Holdings (KORS) are all due to announce earnings.

TomTom (TMOAF) Shares in the Dutch navigation outfit, surging in Europe today on its mapping technology deal with Apple, is boosted to Buy from Hold by Rabobank.
