New Stock Coverage: Sun Shines on Hawaiian Holdings

Wall Street ratings agencies set the tone for today's stock market.

MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL Summoning 007 to ring the opening bell sure made it a banner day for "Bonds," with the subsequent rally in US Treasuries sending 10-year yields to their lowest close ever. And the minute Sean Connery's Goldfinger was placed on the button to begin the day's trading he showed a Midas touch for metal stocks, as previously slumping bullion suddenly surged the most since October. But even this proud son of Edinburgh - who admittedly now professes his love of the auld country from the safe distance of a luxury tax haven in Marbella - was powerless to prevent the Dow (^DJI) dropping for an eleventh day in 12. Which will leave him both shaken and stirred into action; after all, there is nothing Scots detest more than losing money. Greek and Spanish woes again dominated, although Sir Sean would not allow some iffy economic data here at home to get off Scot free, so to speak. Indeed Caterpillar (CAT), which fell 4.42%, was the Dow's worst performer in an indication that economic angst from an ocean away is now starting to prey on Peoria. No top-tier economic data out today, but expect earnings announcements out of Ann Inc (ANN), Brown Shoe (BWS), Donaldson Company(DCI), Foot Locker (FL), Hibbett Sports (HIBB), Kirkland's (KIRK), Progressive Corp (PGR), and Raven Industries (RAVN).
