SPDR S&P 500 ETF and Amerigroup Corporation Most Active Stocks in Pre-Market Today on the NYSE


Reynolds American was up this morning.

MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL The three most active funds and stocks in pre-market trading on the NYSE were SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY), Amerigroup Corporation (AGP), and Reynolds American (RAI) as of 9:15 a.m. Investors traded 3.69 million shares of SPDR S&P 500 ETF, which was down $0.14, or 0.10%.

Investors traded 2.9 million shares of Amerigroup Corporation, which was up $24.41, or 37.94%. WellPoint (WLP) announced that it is buying Amerigroup, a managed care provider, for $4.46 billion in cash. Amerigroup will receive $92 for each of its shares, or a 43% premium to its shares' closing price of $64.34 this past Friday.

Also traded were 1.85 million shares of Reynolds American, which was up $0.20, or 0.44%.
