Lincare Holdings and Amylin Pharmaceuticals Among Most Active Stocks in Pre-Market Today on the Nasdaq


PowerShares QQQ Trust was down this morning.

MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL The three most active funds and stocks in pre-market trading on the Nasdaq were Lincare Holdings (LNCR), Amylin Pharmaceuticals (AMLN), and PowerShares QQQ Trust (QQQ) as of 8:50 a.m. Investors traded 18,212,942 shares of Lincare Holdings, which was up $7.12, or 20.93%. German-based Linde AG (LIN.DE) will buy the Lincare Holdings for $4.6 billion. The home health care company based in Florida will receive $41.50 per share in cash for all of its outstanding shares.

Investors also traded 12,023,603 shares of Amylin Pharmaceuticals, which was up $2.53, or 8.97%. Bristol-Meyers Squibb (BMY) outbidded AstraZeneca (AZN) for Amylin. Bristol-Meyers Squibb will acquire the diabetes drug maker for $31 per share, or a 10% percent premium to Amylin's Friday closing price.

Also traded were 2,078,857 shares of PowerShares QQQ Trust, which was down $0.03, or 0.05%.
