SodaStream International and Arena Pharmaceuticals Among Most Active Stocks in Pre-Market Today on the Nasdaq

MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL The three most active funds and stocks in pre-market trading on the Nasdaq were SodaStream International (SODA), Arena Pharmaceuticals (ARNA), and ARM Holdings (ARMH) as of 9:05 a.m. Investors traded 1,464,279 shares of SodaStream International, which was up $8.51, or 28.66%. SodaStream International shares saw huge gains this morning after it released its first-quarter earnings report. Total revenues increased 50.2% from $58.5 million in the first quarter of 2011 to $87.9 million in the first quarter of this year. Net income increased from $5.5 million a year ago to $10.1 million this past quarter. Investors traded 1,464,279 shares of Arena Pharmaceuticals, which was up $1.05, or 38.60%, and 687,179 shares of ARM Holdings, which was down $1.38, or 5.67%. Arena Pharmaceuticals shares are in the spotlight again. The stock soared this morning as investors are confident that the FDA advisory panel will approve the company's obesity drug lorcaserin after Arena presented its own data yesterday. Shares of ARM Holdings are down, but investors are making bets that the chip maker will perform well in the long term. After falling below $25 per share, traders purchased 3,000 October 26 calls for $1.35 and sold 3,000 October 20 puts for about $1.10.
