American International Group and SPDR S&P 500 ETF Among Most Active Stocks in Pre-Market Today on the NYSE

MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL The three most active funds and stocks in pre-market trading on the NYSE were American International Group (AIG), SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY), and AT&T (T) as of 9:15 a.m. Investors traded 28.07 million shares of American International Group, which was down $2.27, or 6.90%. The Treasury Department announced today that it would sell 163.9 million shares of the company for $30.50 each, or $5 billion in total. This is less than Friday's closing price of $32.83. The government has reduced its holdings of the company to 63% of the company, down from 92% when the government spent $125 billion to prop up the company in 2008. Investors traded 4.79 million shares of SPDR S&P 500 ETF, which was down $0.59, or 0.40%, and 3.1 million shares of AT&T, which was down $0.16, or 0.50%.
