Research In Motion and Facebook Among Most Active Stocks in Pre-Market Today on the Nasdaq


PowerShares QQQ Trust was down this morning.

MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL The three most active funds and stocks in pre-market trading on the Nasdaq were Research In Motion (RIMM), Facebook (FB), and PowerShares QQQ Trust (QQQ) as of 9:00 a.m. Investors traded 1,092,462 shares of Research In Motion, which was down $1.25, or 11.13%. Shares of Research In Motion sank after CEO Thorsten Heins announced yesterday during a business update for shareholders that the company will likely have a rough first quarter, which ends on June 2, and will see an operating loss for the quarter. He also pointed towards future problems by stating, "[O]ur financial performance will continue to be challenging for the next few quarters." The BlackBerry maker also hired JPMorgan (JPM) and RBC Capital to review its strategic options for possibly restructuring or selling the company. Investors also traded 657,354 shares of Facebook, which was unchanged, and 303,309 shares of PowerShares QQQ, which was down $0.48, or 0.76%.
