Verizon and SPDR S&P 500 ETF Among Most Active Stocks in Pre-Market Today on the NYSE

MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL The three most active funds and stocks in pre-market trading on the NYSE were Verizon (VZ), SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY), and Bank of America (BAC) as of 9:15 a.m. Investors traded 3.56 million shares of Verizon, which was down $0.23, or 0.57%. Apple (AAPL) recently announced plans to enter into the wireless service industry and offer direct mobile service to its users. This may hurt companies such as AT&T (T) and Verizon. Investors traded 3.03 million shares of SPDR S&P 500 ETF, which was up $0.06, or 0.04% and 2.17 million shares of Bank of America, which was up $0.02, or 0.25%. Bank of America's top Middle East and North Africa investment banker Waleed El-Amir resigned yesterday.
