Vertex Pharmaceuticals and LeCroy Among Most Active Stocks in Pre-Market Today on the Nasdaq


Facebook was down this morning.

MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL The three most active funds and stocks in pre-market trading on the Nasdaq were Vertex Pharmaceuticals (VRTX), LeCroy Corporation (LCRY), and Facebook (FB) as of 8:45 a.m. Investors traded 1,438,577 shares of Vertex Pharmaceuticals, which was down $12.91, or 19.91%. Vertex Pharmaceuticals shares plunged after it released corrected results to its cystic fibrosis tests, which had originally showed more patients exhibiting signs of improvement to lung function than actually have become healthier. Investors also traded 1,126,525 shares of Lecroy, which was up $5.01, or 54.81%, and 335,915 shares of Facebook, which was down $0.51, or 1.60%. Shares of LeCroy soared on the news that defense equipment manufacturer Teledyne Technologies (TDY) said it would buy LeCroy for $240.5 million in cash. Teledyne will pay $14.30 per share, or a premium of more than 56% to LeCroy shares' closing price on Friday. Facebook options begin trading today.
