Arena Pharmaceuticals and PowerShares QQQ Trust Among Most Active Stocks in Pre-Market Today on the Nasdaq

MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL The three most active funds and stocks in pre-market trading on the Nasdaq were Arena Pharmaceuticals (ARNA), PowerShares QQQ Trust (QQQ), and SINA Corporation (SINA) as of 9:00 a.m. Investors traded 775,143 shares of Arena Pharmaceuticals, which was down $0.37, or 6.11%. Arena Pharmaceuticals announced yesterday that it may sell shares of its common stock in an underwritten public offering. Investors traded 561,562 shares of PowerShares QQQ, which was up $0.22, or 0.35%, and 368,315 shares of SINA Corporation, which was up $6.67, or 13.08%. SINA released its first-quarter results yesterday, and investors have responded favorably despite the Chinese Internet company's first-quarter loss, which was $13.3 million or $0.21 per share. Analysts had anticipated a bigger loss of $0.23 per share, and SINA's advertising revenue helped its total revenue grow by 6% to $106.2 million. SINA raised its second-quarter revenue projections from $126 million to $129 million.
