Avon Products and SPDR S&P 500 ETF Most Active Stocks in Pre-Market Today on the NYSE


Bank of America was up this morning.

MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL The three most active funds and stocks in pre-market trading on the NYSE were Avon Products (AVP), SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY), and Bank of America (BAC) as of 9:10 a.m. Investors traded 3.83 million shares of Avon Products, which was up $0.40, or 1.85%. Avon rose this morning on news of the buyout offer pitched by the private company Coty, which now stands at $24.75 per share, or a 15% premium over yesterday's closing price. Berkshire Hathaway (BRK-A) has provided financing for the bid. Coty gave Avon a deadline of May 14 to reach a decision, or it will back away from the deal. BOT Capital Partner, JPMorgan (JPM), and Coty's parent company JAB Holdings will also provide financing for the deal. Investors traded 3.41 million shares of SPDR S&P 500 ETF, which was up $0.89, or 0.66%, and 2.76 million shares of Bank of America, which was up $0.13, or 1.68%.
