Bank of America and SPDR S&P 500 ETF Among Most Active Stocks in NYSE Pre-Market

MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL The three most active funds and stocks in pre-market trading on the NYSE were Bank of America (NYSE:BAC), SPDR S&P 500 ETF (NYSEARCA:SPY), and SandRidge Energy (NYSE:SD) as of 9:25 a.m. EST.

Investors traded 6.94 million shares of Bank of America, which was up $0.23, or 2.49%. Some analysts believe that Bank of America's stock will rebound after yesterday's loss. (Also see Stock Upgrades: Bank of America About to Bounce Back?)

Investors exchanged 2.08 million shares of SPDR S&P 500 ET, which was up $0.20, or 0.14%.

Investors also traded 1.25 million shares of SandRidge Energy, which was up $0.48, or 8.00%. According to Reuters, one SandRidge's largest investors TPG-Axon has called for the oil and gas company to sell itself and for CEO Tom Ward to step down. TPG-Axon owns a 4.5% stake in the company.
