Stock Upgrades: Kohl's Can Be Hot Stock


Wall Street ratings agencies set the tone for today's stock market.

MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL Dow (^DJI) member Travelers (TRV) once did battle with Citigroup (C) over, and under, an umbrella. Both now have no need for rain rage -- their equities advanced 2.51% and 2.61% respectively, the former hitting an all-time high in the process.

Alas Burberry (BURBY), producer of iconic trench coats, soaked investors. A profit warning and analyst ire sent the stock tumbling an unprecedented 21% in London trading. Luxury peer LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMUY), whose CEO suffered from an incurable case of If It's Tuesday, This Must Be Belgium, ended lower 2.47% in sympathy.

This morning in economics, July wholesale inventories are expected to tick up at 10:00 a.m. Eastern. On the corporate front, National Technical Systems (NTSC), Pall Corp. (PLL), and Streamline Health Solutions (STRM) are all due to announce earnings.

Agrium (AGU): Citigroup upgrades the chemical company to Buy from Neutral and adds it to the Top Picks Live. Channel checks indicate nitrogen has an impressive near-term outlook. The target is also taken up by $14, to $118.

Banco Santander (SAN): The stock is moved by Morgan Stanley to Overweight from Equal-Weight.

Black Hills Corp. (BKH): BKH gets boosted to Overweight from Neutral at JPMorgan.

Crédit Agricole (CRARY): Shares are now Neutral from Underperform at Credit Suisse.

Federated Investors (FII): Goldman gives the stock an upgrade to Neutral from Sell with a $20 target.

Great Plains Energy (GXP): GXP gets upgraded to Overweight from Neutral at JPMorgan.

Group 1 Automotive (GPI): Shares get upgraded to Overweight from Underweight at Morgan Stanley.

JB Hunt Trans (JBHT): Shares are moved to Buy from Neutral by Bank of America-Merrill.

Kohl's Corp. (KSS): KSS is upgraded to Buy from Hold at Deutsche Bank amid improving same-store-sales trends and easy comparisons. The target is taken to $62 from $49.

Phillips 66 (PSX): Shares are moved to Overweight from Equal-Weight at Morgan Stanley.
