Stock Upgrades: Check's in the Mail at Post-It Maker 3M

Wall Street ratings agencies set the tone for today's stock market.

MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL Dow (^DJI) member Disney (DIS) gained 1.74% to the highest level in its history, and the House of Mouse is choosing to celebrate by pairing wine with its cheese for the first time.

The Land of Lincoln's troubled week continued. With its teachers still on strike, Chicago's own Accretive Health (AH) imploded 11.28% even as the Illinois foreclosure rate rose to the highest in America. Manchester United (MANU) touched a fresh trough of $12 and one of its most fanatical fans saw his beloved BRICs take a further hit.

On an otherwise stellar day for stocks Facebook (FB) somehow slid 1.04%, although its stock still hasn't fallen as far and as fast as that of Egypt's fabled "Facebook revolution."

On the earnings front, Cubic Corp. (CUB) is among the companies due to release quarterly results today. A manic morning in economics includes September's preliminary consumer sentiment survey from the University of Michigan at 9:55 a.m. Eastern and July business inventories at 10:00 a.m.

3M Co (MMM): The Dow (^DJI) component gets an unusual 180 degree (Buy-from-Underperform) boost at Bank of America-Merrill Lynch.

ABB Limited (ABB): The European industrial giant gets upgraded to Outperform from Neutral by BNP Paribas, sending shares up ahead of this morning's opening bell.

Analogic (ALOG): Shares are now Buy from Hold with an $85 price objective at Needham, which says a new scanner could build further momentum.

CF Industries (CF): CF is upgraded to Overweight from Neutral at JPMorgan amid improving grain fundamentals.

HollyFrontier (HFC): HFC gets hoisted to Outperform from Market Perform with Wells Fargo.

Perrigo (PRGO): The stock is increased to Buy from Above Average at Caris & Company.

Sky West (SKYW): Shares are boosted to Strong Buy from Outperform at Raymond James amid increased confidence it will secure new contracts with legacy carriers. The target is $14.
