MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL The three most active funds and stocks in pre-market trading on the NYSE were MetroPCS Communications (NYSE:PCS), Wellpoint (NYSE:WLP), and SPDR S&P 500 ETF (NYSEARCA:SPY) as of 9:05 a.m.
Investors exchanged 7.19 million shares of MetroPCS Communications, which was up $0.03, or 0.22%. According to AllThingsD, T-Mobile parent Deutsche Telekom (FRA:DTE) said it has reached a deal to combine its US wireless operations with MetroPCS.
Investors traded 7.1 million shares of Wellpoint, which was up $0.15, or 0.25%. Wellpoint announced the pricing of its $1.35 billion aggregate principal amount of 2.750% convertible senior debentures due 2042, which will be offered only to qualified institutional buyers.
