New Stock Coverage: LinkedIn Corp Still Doing a Great Job

Wall Street ratings agencies set the tone for today's stock market.

Shares were solidly in the pink until a salmon-colored publication sent equities swimming upstream late on Monday. A report from the Financial Times that the Fed is "close to tapering down" its bond buying binge caused the afternoon angst, although Dow Industrials (^DJI) still posted a triple-digit increase.

Danish Lego builders may be increasingly angry, but here in America, homebuilders are all smiles. A survey of industry sentiment hit a seven-year best, helping to boost bourses. Private jet maker Embraer (ERJ) jumped 4.43%, with even Buddhist monks now apparently in the habit of freely flying footloose and fancy. Someone should tell them you can't take it with you, although with funeral home operator Hillenbrand (HI) falling 1.95%, maybe Monday wasn't the day. (Truth be told, the cemetery sector has had better times.)

And from pushing up the daisies to (Charlie) Rose - President Obama indicated to the talk show host that Ben Bernanke may soon be job hunting. If so, let's hope he is long LinkedIn (LNKD) going into today's Federal Open Market Committee meeting. On the earnings front, Adobe Systems (ADBE), FactSet Research Systems (FDS), and La-Z-Boy (LZB) are all due to report results.

American Residential Properties Inc (ARPI): Raymond James resumes the stock at Outperform.

Fusion-IO, Inc. (FIO): Impressed with the company's steadily more productive forays into traditional data centers, Needham has a fresh Buy on FIO. Its target price is $20. Shares are, accordingly, up about 2% so far this morning.

Insmed Incorporated (INSM): UBS assigns a Buy on INSM.

Intuitive Surgical, Inc. (ISRG): The stock is established at Outperform with Wedbush.

LinkedIn Corp (LNKD): Pacific Crest picks up the professional networking stock, up 74.09% over the past year, at an Outperform.

Momenta Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (MNTA): Shares are begun with a Buy and $17 price objective at WallachBeth amid Enoxaparin approval.

Quintiles Transnational Holdings Inc (Q): Goldman Sachs has a new Neutral on the biopharmaceutical name but Buy-rated Deutsche Bank is more upbeat. Shares are adding on more than 1% as I write.

Stealthgas Inc. (GASS): GASS gets rated a new Outperform with Wells Fargo.

T-Mobile US INC (TMUS): Canaccord Genuity has a Hold and $22 target on the stock.
