New Stock Coverage: Pucker Up to Estee Lauder

Wall street ratings agencies set the tone for today's stock market.

They say when you're young you have time and no money, and when you're old you have money and no time. The final hour of trading proved time enough for a billionaire septuagenarian to send the Dow (INDEXDJX:.DJI), which had earlier topped 16,000 for the first time ever, back below that lofty level. Still, 15,976.02 wasn't a bad close for the index; it stood at 152 on the day Carl Icahn was born. After the joy of six - the number of weeks US stock markets have risen - came 777, with Boeing (NYSE:BA) up 1.68% to best all blue chips after a blockbuster order for that so-numbered airplane from Qatar. (China, where 888 is the luckiest lucky number, also boosted bourses by announcing some suspiciously strong economic data.) Sony (NYSE:SNE), which jumped 10.51% last week, added on another 1.19%. Bet that 5-year-old now wants to Walk back his diss, Man. While its PlayStation 4 flies off the shelves, the outlook isn't nearly as optimistic for unloved Xbox owner Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT), which dropped a Dow-worst 1.69%. This as speculation continues to rage that Alan Mulally may leave Ford (NYSE:F) for the tech titan. For the time being, however, the car company has its hands full trying to stay away from its crack head Canadian cousin.

There aren't any top-tier economic reports due this morning. US markets, and specific stocks, may move on quarterly earnings announcements, however. Today's results are expected to include Best Buy (NYSE:BBY), Campbell Soup (NYSE:CPB), Dick's Sporting Goods (NYSE:DKS), Home Depot (NYSE:HD), La-Z-Boy (NYSE:LZB), Medtronic (NYSE:MDT), TJX Cos (NYSE:TJX), Trina Solar (NYSE:TSL), and Valspar (NYSE:VAL).

Aerie Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:AERI): Shares are initiated with an Outperform at RBC Capital.

Cintas (NASDAQ:CTAS): Piper Jaffray picks up Cintas at a Neutral. Cintas makes uniforms across a range of industries.

Cosmetics Companies: Avon Products (NYSE:AVP) and Coty Inc (NYSE:COTY) are each new Neutrals at Credit Suisse. Estée Lauder (NYSE:EL) rates a more upbeat Outperform. Estée Lauder's other brands include Aramis, Aveda, Clinique, Origins, and Smashbox. Under CEO Fabrizio Freda, Estée Lauder shares hit the highest level in their history on Halloween.

Centene (NYSE:CNC): Leerink Swann launches coverage at Outperform.

Diagnostic Stocks: Laboratory Corp (NYSE:LH) and Quest Diagnostics (NYSE:DGX) are each new Neutrals at ISI Group. Its respective price objectives are $110.50 and $63.

Eastern Insurance (NASDAQ:EIHI): Shares are initiated with an Outperform at Wells Fargo.

Intel (NASDAQ:INTC): Intel, a key Dow component, is a new Buy at Mizuho, whose target price is $30. Catalysts include manufacturing innovation and Intel's future 14nm offerings.

Managed Care: Humana (NYSE:HUM) is an Outperform at Leerink Swann, which rates Dow member UnitedHealth (NYSE:UNH) Market Perform.

Qualcomm (NASDAQ:QCOM): The chip name is covered with a Buy at Mizuho, whose objective is $88. Operating margins are expected to improve.
