Who needs Halloween scarecrows when we have Fed hawks? The S&P 500 Index (INDEXSP:.INX) snapped a four-session winning streak after Ben Bernanke & Co. gave a disturbingly cautious assessment of the US economy. Among equities on the move, Yahoo (NASDAQ:YHOO) dropped 1.81%, its stock now dead money after Marissa Mayer entered the mortician business. (The 114-year-old funeral home is likely a to-D.I.Y. for fixer upper.) Yahoo suffered yet another privacy breech but who cares? Certainly not a far-from-dead LifeLock (NYSE:LOCK), whose CEO shows his Social Security number to the world, and was just rewarded with an NYSE-best 15.64% stock surge. Elsewhere, going bobbing for Apples (NASDAQ:AAPL) a day ahead of 10-31 proved profitable, with the Cupertino outfit advancing 1.59%. This even as Ashton sold his soul to the devil; it's a tough Jobs, but someone's gotta do it. And a lovelorn Match.com owner IAC/InterActiveCorp (NASDAQ:IACI) imploded 8.48%. With getting married to yourself the latest trend in our narcissistic society, matchmakers do indeed appear doomed.

It's another full day for third quarter earnings announcements, with American International Group (NYSE:AIG), BNP Paribas (OTCMKTS:BNPQY), Clorox (NYSE:CLX), Discovery Communications (NASDAQ:DISCA), Exxon Mobil (NYSE:XOM), First Solar (NASDAQ:FSLR), MasterCard (NYSE:MA), Sony (NYSE:SNE), and Time Warner Cable (NYSE:TWC), all expected to release results.

Casella Waste (NASDAQ:CWST): Shares are initiated with an Outperform at Imperial Capital, whose price objective is $7.50.

Compuware (NASDAQ:CPWR): The name is a new Overweight at Evercore.

Crédit Agricole (OTCMKTS:CRARY): UBS assigns a Buy rating.

FireEye (NASDAQ:FEYE): FEYE is a fresh Perform at Oppenheimer.

Healthcare Information Technology: FBR Capital assigns Outperforms on Cerner (NASDAQ:CERN) ($67 target price) and Omnicell (NASDAQ:OMCL) ($28). Market Performs are ascribed to Allscripts-Misys Healthcare (NASDAQ:MDRX) ($16) and AthenaHealth (NASDAQ:ATHN) ($130.)

Wabash National (NYSE:WNC): Piper Jaffray picks the stock up at Overweight.
