Also, Express Scripts misses earnings estimates by more than a little.

MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL The NASDAQ Composite Index (INDEXNASDAQ:.IXIC) rose 0.57% to 3,017.09 at 3:00 p.m. EST today as stocks rallied for Election Day.

Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) dropped just 0.05% to $584.32 as analysts predicted neither a sharp decline nor a swift ascent for this holiday season. Rival big-boy Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT), on the other hand, jumped 1.12% to $29.96 on healthy sales numbers for the Surface tablet.

Elsewhere in tech, Dell (NASDAQ:DELL) had a good day too, rising 2.35% to $9.57 on a decent earnings report, and social media giant Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) fell 0.94% to $21.06 despite launching a whole array of updates for its iOS apps.

Express Scripts (NASDAQ:ESRX) had perhaps the worst day on the exchange, falling 11.48% to $55.66 (and much lower in early trading) after its earnings fell short of estimates by around $500 million.
