  • Japanese telecommunications and Internet company Softbank (OTCMKTS:SFTBF) bought 4,243,421 shares of American telecom company Sprint for $29,615,418. In July, Softbank acquired a majority stake in Sprint.
  • The real estate investment trust RAIT Financial Trust (NYSE:RAS) bought 170,000 share of Independence Realty Trust (NYSEMKT:IRT), also an REIT, for $1,445,000.
  • David Mackay, a Director of specialty coffee and coffee maker company Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (NASDAQ:GMCR), bought 14,000 shares of company stock for $1,051,936.
  • Phillip Frost, a Director of independent brokerage, investment banking, and equity research company Ladenburg Thalmann Financial Services (NYSEMKT:LTS), bought 500,000 shares for $835,000.
