  • The investment firm Alta Biopharma Partners II, which specializes in private later-stage companies, bought 900,000 shares of pharmaceutical company Scynexis (NASDAQ:SCYX) for $9,000,000. Scynexis focuses on the discovery, development, and commercialization of anti-infectives.
  • Todd Hornbeck, CEO of marine transportation company Hornbeck Offshore (NYSE:HOS), bought 50,000 shares of company stock for $1,931,274. The company provides its services to customers in oil exploration and production, offshore construction, and oil field service, as well as the US military.
  • Daniel Beltzman, a director at hair and retail product salons company Regis (NYSE:RGS), bought 129,397 shares of company stock for $1,704,409.
  • Marc Beer, CEO of biopharmaceutical company Aegerion Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:AEGR), bought 30,000 shares of company stock for $1,059,300. Aegerion focuses on the development and commercialization of therapeutics for the treatment of lipid disorders.
