  • Kenneth Langone, the American businessman, billionaire, and investor best known for co-founding The Home Depot (NYSE:HD), bought 417,736 shares of Geeknet (NASDAQ:GNKT) for $5,848,304. Langone is a director of the company, which provides an online network for the global "geek" community.
  • George Sakellaris, CEO of energy efficiency solutions provider Ameresco (NYSE:AMRC), bought 166,130 shares of company stock for $1,286,775.
  • Melvin Payne, CEO of death care services and merchandise provider Carriage Services (NYSE:CSV), bought 20,000 shares of company stock for $342,060.
  • Phillip Frost, a director at independent financial services company Ladenburg Thalmann (NYSEMKT:LTS), bought 100,000 shares of company stock for $298,430. Frost is also the chairman and CEO of Opko Health (NYSE:OPK), which often appears on the insider purchases list.
