  • Canadian asset management company Brookfield Asset Management (NYSE:BAM) bought 25,093,350 shares of Chicago-based real estate investment trust General Growth Properties (NYSE:GGP) for $511,653,408. General Growth also saw a major insider sale, which is noted below.
  • The Japanese trading company Marubeni (OTCMKTS:MARUF) bought 60,000 shares of global high-utility commercial-jet aircraft company Aircastle (NYSE:AYR) for $1,134,105.
  • James Lynch, a director at Cape Bank holding company Cape Bancorp (NASDAQ:CBNJ), bought 65,300 shares of company stock for $613,820.
  • Laurence Chapman, a director at San Francisco-based real estate investment trust Digital Realty Trust (NYSE:DLR), bought 10,000 shares of company stock for $478,700.
Notable Sale:
  • China Investment Corp, a sovereign wealth fund responsible for managing a segment of China's foreign exchange reserves, sold 27,977,780 shares of General Growth Properties stock for $570,466,944.
