Biogen and PowerShares QQQ Trust Among Most Active Stocks in Nasdaq Pre-Market

Vodafone was down this morning.
MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL The three most active funds and stocks in pre-market trading on the Nasdaq (INDEXNASDAQ:.IXIC) were Biogen (NASDAQ:BIIB), Vodafone (NASDAQ:VOD), and PowerShares QQQ Trust (NASDAQ:QQQ) as of 8:45 a.m. EST.
Investors traded 464,619 shares of Biogen, which was down $9.74, or 6.49%. According to Bloomberg, Biogen's experimental drug for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, dexpramipexole, failed to help patients in a clinical trial.
Investors also traded 275,938 shares of PowerShares QQQ Trust, which was down $0.15, or 0.22%.
Investors exchanged 258,301 shares of Vodafone, which was down $0.35, or 1.36%. Vodafone is offering its UK customers discounts on used smartphones with the goal of increasing sales of data to offset service-revenue declines.
