Clearwire Corporation and NPS Pharmaceuticals Among Most Active Stocks in Nasdaq Pre-Market

MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL The three most active funds and stocks in pre-market trading on the Nasdaq (INDEXNASDAQ:.IXIC) were Clearwire Corporation (NASDAQ:CLWR), NPS Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:NPSP), and ASML Holding (NASDAQ:ASML) as of 8:50 a.m.

Investors exchanged 333,990 shares of Clearwire Corporation, which was down $0.14, or 6.31%. Softbank (TYO:9984) is considering buying a two-thirds stake in Sprint (NYSE:S) or possibly the whole company. Sprint owns 49% of Clearwire's shares, so Softbank would acquire a stake in Clearwire if it buys Sprint.

Investors also traded 284,738 shares of NPS Pharmaceuticals, which was up $1.34, or 14.68%. NPS Pharmaceuticals announced today that the US Food and Drug Administration has posted briefing materials for the October 16, 2012 Gastrointestinal Drugs Advisory Committee meeting to review Gattex. Gattex is being developed by NPS Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of adults with short bowl syndrome.

Investors also traded 271,344 shares of ASML Holding, which was up $0.73, or 1.38%. ASML Holding will reports its third-quarter financial results on October 17.
