New Stock Coverage: LifeLock Gets a Pick-Me-Up

Wall Street ratings agencies set the tone for today's stock market.

MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL Following several cataclysmic days in which the only upgrades and downgrades that mattered concerned hurricanes and tsunamis, Wall Street and the shattered city it calls home will try to resume a semblance of normalcy this morning.

When trading belatedly begins, the Dow (^DJI) aims to snap back from last week's 1.77% decline caused by a multitude of earnings disappointments. Before high tides from Sandy battered Battery Park City and capsized the Bounty, rising sales of Tide, Duracell batteries, and Bounty paper towels propelled Procter & Gamble (PG) to a 2.1% increase. The Old Gray Lady otherwise known as the New York Times (NYT) nosedived 23.2% even as young mother Marissa Mayer saw her Yahoo (YHOO) surge 6% to a 17-month peak.

Keeping it in the family, (ACOM) advanced 8.5% in another of the week's standout showings. The genealogy website claims President Obama and Warren Buffett are related, but this link is not immediately apparent from the former's embrace of business regulation.

It's another frenetic session for third quarter earnings announcements, with results expected out of Anheuser-Busch (BUD), Barclays (BCS), Deutsche Lufthansa (DLAKY), GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), MGM Resorts (MGM), MasterCard (MA), Panasonic (PC), and Time Warner Cable (TWC).

AmeriGas Partners (APU): JPMorgan launches the limited partnership at a Neutral.

Demand Media (DMD): Shares are a Market Perform at National Alliance Capital, which issues a $9.44 price objective. Anticipated content-media advertising sales growth is balanced by concerns over user migration to mobile platforms.

Fleetmatics (FLTX): Shares are begun with an Overweight at Barclays and a Buy at Bank of America-Merrill Lynch.

Halcon Resources (HK): The name is a new Neutral at Goldman Sachs.

LifeLock (NYSE:LOCK): The anti-identity theft outfit is begun with Buys at both Bank of America-Merrill and Canaccord Genuity.

Luxfer (LXFR): Oppenheimer assigns an Outperform on LXFR.

Regulus Therapeutics (RGLS): Cowen covers the company at Outpeform.

Ryder System (R): Shares are a new Neutral at Goldman Sachs.
