Monday

There are no major economic reports scheduled for Monday. On the earnings front, we'll hear from Caterpillar (NYSE:CAT), Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold (NYSE:FCX), Hasbro (NASDAQ:HAS), Peabody Energy (NYSE:BTU), SunTrust Banks (NYSE:STI), Texas Instruments (NASDAQ:TXN), Western Digital (NASDAQ:WDC), and Yahoo (NASDAQ:YHOO).

Tuesday

The Richmond Fed's manufacturing index hits the Street on Tuesday, while the members of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) assemble to begin their two-day meeting. Earnings reports are expected from 3M (NYSE:MMM), DuPont (NYSE:DD), United Technologies (NYSE:UTX), AK Steel (NYSE:AKS), Amgen (NASDAQ:AMGN), Broadcom (NASDAQ:BRCM), Coach (NYSE:COH), Facebook (NASDAQ:FB), Harley-Davidson (NYSE:HOG), Illumina (NASDAQ:ILMN), Juniper Networks (NYSE:JNPR), Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX), RadioShack (NYSE:RSH), and VMware (NYSE:VMW).

Wednesday

New home sales are due out on Wednesday, followed by the release of the FOMC's latest policy decision at 2:15 p.m. Eastern. AT&T (NYSE:T), Boeing (NYSE:BA), Akamai Technologies (NASDAQ:AKAM), Angie's List (NASDAQ:ANGI), Bristol-Myers Squibb (NYSE:BMY), Citrix Systems (NASDAQ:CTXS), Corning (NYSE:GLW), EMC Corp. (NYSE:EMC), Kimberly-Clark (NYSE:KMB), Ryland Group (NYSE:RYL), US Airways (NYSE:LCC), and Zynga (NASDAQ:ZNGA) will share the earnings spotlight.

Thursday

Thursday brings us reports on jobless claims, durable goods orders, and pending home sales. The earnings calendar features quarterly results from Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL), Procter & Gamble (NYSE:PG), Acme Packet (NASDAQ:APKT), Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN), Biogen Idec (NASDAQ:BIIB), Clearwire (NASDAQ:CLWR), Colgate-Palmolive (NYSE:CL), Expedia (NASDAQ:EXPE), Goldcorp (NYSE:GG), International Paper (NYSE:IP), JetBlue Airways (NASDAQ:JBLU), PulteGroup (NYSE:PHM), Sprint Nextel (NYSE:S), and Under Armour (NYSE:UA).

The advance reading on third-quarter gross domestic product (GDP) will be released on Friday, along with the Thomson Reuters/University of Michigan consumer sentiment index. Earnings are due out from Merck (NYSE:MRK), Arch Coal (NYSE:ACI), Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA), and Moody's (NYSE:MCO).
