Friday's Earnings Announcements

Carnival, Investors Capital, and Torch Energy Royalty Trust will all report results.

Scheduled earnings announcements for June 22 include:

Carnival Corp. (CCL): Carnival Corp. plans to expand in Europe even as it hunkers down for a strike in Italy. UGS AG issued a positive earnings outlook for Carnival Corp., which has an earnings call scheduled for 10 a.m. EDT.

Darden Restaurants (DRI): Interestingly, 17 out of 28 analysts following Darden Restaurants rate the shares a buy or better while options traders seem to sport a different sentiment with Wednesday's put/call volume ratio at 2.32.

Investors Capital Holdings (ICH): Investors Capital Holdings, whose subsidiary ICC was voted Best Broker/Dealer of the Year in 2011 by Investment Advisor magazine, put itself up for sale in March. A likely suitor is LPL Investment Holdings (LPLA), the largest broker-dealer in the US.

JDA Software Group (JDAS): Although JDA's supply chain software is used by prominent companies like Anheuser-Busch (BUD), the company received a Nasdaq notice of non-compliance in May because it filed its first quarter report late this year.

Lizhan Environmental (LZEN): The Chinese eco-friendly fabric maker received an extension to regain Nasdaq listing requirements and has been reporting unaudited financial results.

Torch Energy Royalty Trust (TRU): Torch is another company on warning; in its case, Torch failed to file its 2011 annual report with the SEC on time.
