Minyanville Underground Railroad: One Hand Washes the Other
For as a wise man once said, "This too, shall pass."
Greetings to the Minyanville Underground Railroad as we edge through these interesting times.
Before we get started, I wanted to express my sincere gratitude for your patience with regard to this initiative. In addition to our daily efforts, we’ve been diligently working behind the scenes on a capital raise to add capacity into this downturn and build upon the vision of the ‘Ville. No small feat in this environment but I’m happy to share we’re bringing it home for a landing.
When we started The Railroad in March—into the market lows, mind you—societal tension was thick. The wheels were wobbling on the wagon and folks were fed up with the party line from the establishment. Given the toxicity of the financial machination and the attendant destruction of wealth, there was (is) tremendous resentment in the mainstream mindset for all things finance.
Enter the MUR, which had a pretty straightforward mission. Create a network of human capital that intertwines the world with people who are good at what they do and better at who they are. Those of us who believe our name and word still mean something and honesty, trust and respect are the foundational construct of any successful endeavor.
When we started this puppy, we offered several thoughts and asked Ambassadors to weigh in with ideas. This effort—like most other things in life—is a pure meritocracy where we’ll get out of it what we put into it. While we anticipate a slammy May, we plan to push the MUR agenda with m oxie on the other side of Memorial Day.
With that in mind, I wanted to share my mind’s eye as it relates to The Railroad. Please keep in mind that this image isn’t a hierarchy as much as a flow chart of thoughts, energy and ideas as they manifest through the Minyanville spectrum. The conduit is fluid and two-sided; the pyramid simply relates to the scale for each particular segment.
Given we’re somewhere near the middle peak of a “W” that could come to define 2009—as always, one man’s humble opinion—my sense is that our collective resolve will be tested anew in the coming months. The most intuitive response to hardship is isolation, particularly given the pandemic scare currently making the rounds, but that is precisely why we must collectively stand together to make a difference.
The purpose of the MUR is not to further Minyanville’s economic standing. Given our mission to affect positive change through financial understanding, however, we will use our existing construct to achieve that greater good. As an Ambassador, you’re already familiar with our passion and purpose. It is our sincere hope that you will help us build the thrill at various levels of the financial learning ladder.
To that end, if everyone in the MUR contacted five friends or family members and pointed them to any one rung, our community will grow in kind and accelerate the solution as we together find our way. Please feel free to contact any of the MV Staffers below or as always, myself as we fight the good fight. And thank you so very much, as a dream is only as powerful as those who believe in it.
