For Earth Week last year, NBC and parent company GE (not the greenest company on the planet) organized a Green Week of environmentally-conscious programming.

While a contestant on The Biggest Loser was awarded a hybrid SUV and a couple on Days of Our Lives had a fictional green wedding, Today Show host Matt Lauer left a mind-boggling carbon footprint as part of his ongoing “Where in the World is Matt Lauer?” segment. The network burned massive amounts of jet fuel flying Lauer to locales including Buenos Aires, Amsterdam, Laos, and Istanbul -- all in a single week.
