What began as a raunchy teen comedy from Universal (GE) to end all raunchy teen comedies had been reduced to a sad film franchise once it became a trilogy. In the age of direct-to-DVD, American Pie has become a truly established rubber-stamp series. Inexplicably, Eugene Levy, who starred in the three AP theatrical releases, has returned for each of the straight-to-video installments, including Beta House, a formulaic tease flick that touts itself as “the most outrageous slice of pie.”
