Here Come the Glassholes? Google Glass Up for Sale in One-Day Event

Next week, you too will have the opportunity to pay $1,500 for the latest in wearable tech.

Come next Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. EST, anyone in the US will be able to order a Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) Glass device and join the Glass Explorer beta program that began one year ago. In the early days, those who wanted to get their hands on Google's wearable device had to post on Twitter (NYSE:TWTR) or Google Plus what they would use Glass for (with the hashtag #ifihadglass). The original Explorers were chosen through those posts, and eventually, they were allowed to invite friends and family.

Now, anyone in the US can get in on the action, but other countries are still out in the dark. As Google said in a blog post, "To everyone outside the US...we know. Sorry :( We're just not ready yet to bring Glass to other countries."

By expanding the pool of Google Glass users, the company will increase the amount of feedback it gets on what is working for consumers and what's not.  So, if you didn't tweet #ifihadglass but want a shot at having your own Google Glass and a small part in the development of the finished product, your chance is nigh. However, be forewarned: Space is limited, and as mentioned, the offer is one day only, so you better be ready. You can sign up for a reminder from Google here.
