Remember back in 2001, after the dotcom bubble burst, when stocks declined 12-13 percent or so on their way to a an even worse decline in 2002? People were a little bearish and risk averse back then. But not nearly as bearish and risk averse as they are today! Check out the chart below from CNN Money:



If you are younger than 35 then man do you hate you some stocks. Hate them! Eight years ago people under 35 were wildly bullish... and as it turns out, wrong. Since 2001, the S&P 500 is down about 17 percent. Oh well. There's always gold, right?
