Ultimate, All-Time Top May Be In, As $2 Million Solid Gold Monopoly Game Heads To Wall Street

Print comment Post Comments
In 1988, San Francisco jeweler Sidney Mobell heard about a Monopoly tournament taking place in London, and hit upon the idea of creating a version of board game out of 18-karat gold.

Now, it's headed to Wall Street, where it will be on display at the Museum of American Finance, starting today. The game is worth roughly $2 million. The set of dice alone is valued at $10,000, with 42 full-cut diamonds for the number dots.

An ounce of gold cost between $360 and $460 when Mobell started working on the project. It is now trading above $1,300.

Is this a sign that the top is in?

Just asking...
