Treasury Document Called AIG Investment 'Highly Speculative'

Print comment Post Comments
"The U.S. Treasury said in a draft of a presentation that its $40 billion investment in the American International Group Inc. bailout was “highly speculative," according to Bloomberg. “The prospects of recovery of capital and a return on the equity investment to the taxpayer are highly speculative,” according to the first of the two Treasury slides in a presentation obtained through the Freedom of Information Act by Judicial Watch. AIG is up more than 50%... this week alone. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
