'Toaster on Legs' Threatens to Disrupt Future Olympic Track & Field Events

Print comment Post Comments
A robot, built by U.S. scientists, earlier this month set a world record for "untethered robotic walking," the scientific term for "going haywire and relentlessly hunting down its creator in order to avenge its lack of complex human emotions." Guided by students (in the future, "unwitting victims") using a remote control (in the future, "device used by the robot to relentlessly hunt down the user") the robot, dubbed a "toaster on legs," walked 108.5 times around a 212m indoor track. Even more disturbing, "while the movements of other robots are controlled by motors, the Ranger has a more laid-back gait."
