New data shows that the creativity of America’s youth is declining, even as IQ scores continue to go up. Kids in kindergarten through sixth grade are showing much lower levels of creativity than generations prior even though they're measurably smarter.
This shouldn’t be such a revelation since most kids spend more time watching TV and playing video games than they do sleeping. Unlike the days when all there was to do was play around with your abacus, kids today have things like Apple’s iPad at their disposal.
So what can America do to put creativity back in focus? . . I’m at a total loss for ideas. Maybe there’s an app for that?
