Taco Bell Customer Opens Fire Over Beefy Crunch Burrito Price Increase

Print comment Post Comments
A San Antonio, TX Taco Bell customer and opened fire on employees with an air gun after being told that the seven Beefy Crunch Burritos he ordered would run him an extra 50 cents a piece.

Taco Bell raised the price of the item from 99 cents to $1.49, which apparently came as such a surprise to 37 year-old Ricardo Jones that he also saw fit to pull a pistol and a semiautomatic assault rifle before fleeing in a Mitsubishi Eclipse.

“They did used to be 99 cents, but that was just a promotion,” restaurant manager Brian Tillerson said.

The taste that will soon be but a memory for Ricardo Jones...

Cops pulled the car over a few miles from the scene, where Jones exchanged shots with officers, then barricaded himself in a room at a Rodeway Inn motel, leading to a three-hour standoff.

The SWAT team finally used tear gas to smoke Jones out, who was charged with, depending on which news outlet one chooses to believe, either three counts of attempted capital murder or two felony counts of aggravated assault (San Antonio Express-News says assault, the Associated Press says murder.)

According to Brian Tillerson, Jones never seemed overly pleased with his Taco Bell experience.

“The weird thing is,” he explained, “He was here a week ago around the same time last Sunday. He yelled at me then too.”
