Like many players of Electronic Arts' long-running Madden game franchise, IGN's Nate Ahearn was disappointed in the lack of bombastic celebration that came when winning the Super Bowl in last year's edition. He complained that winning the big game "felt about as special as spending a Saturday afternoon lying on your couch with one hand in your pants and the other in a bag of potato chips."

But Ahearn and Madden fans can take solace now that EA has completely revamped the Super Bowl celebration sequence in next month's Madden 2011. In fact, along with the Gatorade dumps and trophy ceremonies, your digital players, your avatars, the extensions of yourself, will actually meet a stiff and poorly rendered depiction of our US president, Barack Obama --
complete with handshakes and awkward pats on the shoulder!

Even in a digital land of ones and zeros, nothing beats a good photo op.

Madden 11 will be released August 10 on PlayStation consoles, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, and Apple devices.
