EVEN WITH UNEMPLOYMENT AT 10%?
"Finding a permanent chief executive [for General Motors] with a track record of success, and willing to take on the challenge of a difficult turnaround and working for an impatient board, could take months," the New York Times reports. "It will also be complicated by pay restrictions imposed by the federal government as a condition of the $50 billion in loans it made to G.M." In other words, finding a rich white man well connected enough to even be considered for the job is going to be tough because of the pay restrictions that really won't make it worth his while. Huh.
