No "iPad Love" for the Notion Ink Adam

Print comment Post Comments
Well. Another day, another lackluster tablet.

With the much anticipated Motorola Xoom dropping next month, it's a wonder why anyone would jump the gun and snatch up a Notion Ink Adam considering its low-level hype, lukewarm reviews, and offshore, little-known manufacturer. Nevertheless, folks who purchased the tablet its opening week should be pleased to hear that the device will see a Honeycomb upgrade.

Anything to distract them from this spotty launch.

Ubergizmo reports that early adopters of the Adam are venting their frustration over the numerous bugs and abhorrent customer service. Message boards are filling up with owners who are experiencing glitchy screens and unusable cameras. Furthering the device's bad blood with the FCC, the Adam underwent a teardown by the agency and the photos were leaked online. And from the looks of the inside, it, uh, could use a better build quality.

Making matters even worse, the tablet's first OTA update bricked the entire device. Sure, the company released a speedy fix, but on top of the other issues, this doesn't bode well for the future.

And as for now, you might be better off waiting for the Xoom.
