TRUTHINESS IN ADVERTISING
DailyFeed
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has taken legal action against SingTel Optus Pty Limited, a telecom provider, for allegedly engaging in "misleading or deceptive conduct" and charges that Optus "made false representations in relation to the advertising of certain broadband plans as part of its 'Think Bigger' and 'Supersonic' promotional campaigns."

Fair enough, we're all for truth and honesty here at Minyanville. So, what was wrong with the campaign?

Well, uh, see...um, that's where things get a bit dicey. Judge for yourself, and I think you'll agree that the only people who could have possibly been "misled" or "deceived" by the ad in question are folks who, by any logical reasoning, are likely not qualified to be operating a computer in the first place.

Can a deer run fast enough to actually break the sound barrier? Wait, let me rephrase that. Does Ronald McDonald really exist?
