Korean Zoo Animals More Articulate Than Many Americans

An elephant named Kosik, who is a resident of Everland Theme Park in South Korea, can speak Korean.

Kosik knows seven words -- which is six more than the person who sold me a Sausage Biscuit with Egg this morning.

With adult reading proficiency in the United States hovering somewhere around an 8th grade level, is it really much of a wonder China's eating our lunch?

Now it looks as though the American worker will be competing on the global stage with Koreans, too. It's just too bad that the competition comes from a four-legged beast that lives in a cage.
