Incredible Video of 10,000 Public Employees Protesting Bill in Wisconsin

Print comment Post Comments
More than 10,000 protesters gathered in the state capitol to protest a bill eliminating most collective bargaining rights from nearly all Wisconsin public employees. This video shows the scene at the capitol. (H/T Charles).

Ultimately, the bill passed last night anyway, with all Republicans backing it and no Democrats voting for it.

"We don't have a lot of options here folks. It's not like we're choosing to do this. We are broke," said Rep. Alberta Darling, R-River Falls, told Madison's Channel 3000 news, while Sen. Bob Jauch, D-Poplar said, "What you're about to do is destroy the fabric of who we are, and I can't figure out why."

Expect this scene to be replayed literally hundreds of times across the country as cash-strapped state and local governments move to cut costs and rein in budget costs.

This is the video from the rotunda yesterday.
