ONE FOR THE HYPERINFLATIONISTS
Zimbabwe's daily hyperinflation rate ranks second in world history at 989%, according to a recent paper, well behind Hungary's 207% daily rate in the mid 1940s and ahead of Yugoslavia's 64.6% rate in 1994. The infamous Germany Weimar hyperinflation is a distant third at a mere 20.9% daily rate. Clearly, the U.S. has some deflating to do before we can turn the corner and ratchet up the inflation.
