WELL, YOU DID ASK FOR GRUB

Although subsisting largely on fruits and vegetables, your common ring-tailed lemur will eat insects when no other alternative exists. Similarly, your common New Yorker will pay $85 to eat a plate of insects when every other criminal waste of money has been exhausted.

Just off the BQE, the Brooklyn Kitchen is offering up a four-course meal consisting entirely of insects this Saturday. According to the New York Daily News, the restaurant will be serving caterpillars, mealworms, and moth larvae -- Mexican-style prepared, of course -- for a little over a C-note with tax and tip. For those hesitant to swallow parasitic vermin, not to worry: You may wash it all down with a slightly less disgusting glass of mezcal.

Now, the logical response to a food festival more fitting for an exterminator would be, "Who in their right mind would ever attend such an occasion, much less pay for the opportunity." Well, according to owner Taylor Erkkinen, half of the event's 40 slots have been filled as of yesterday. "People are kind of interested, but also skeeved out," she told the Daily News.

Human suffering is kinda like that, Taylor.
