Fast Food Returning To US Military Bases in Afghanistan

I LOVE THE SMELL OF WHOPPERS IN THE MORNING

Recently, the US military shuttered all on-base fast food restaurants in Afghanistan, including Burger King, TGI Friday's, and Pizza Hut.

The reason?

In the words of Command Sgt. Maj. Michael T. Hall (NOT Michael C. Hall, star of hit Showtime series "Dexter"), "This is a warzone – not an amusement park."

Hm, and all this time, I was under the impression that Helmand Province was more like Six Flags than a battlefield.

Anyway, the far more clearheaded Gen. David Petraeus has taken another look at an astoundingly asinine, boneheaded decision and told the Washington Post that, "As far as Burger Kings are involved, all options are on the table."

See, living in a warzone is exactly why there should be a Burger King on military bases overseas. When the people getting shot at on a daily basis have one small taste of home available after a hard day of, well, getting shot at, why would anyone take that away?

Good on ya, General.
