Facing Looming Police Layoffs, Oakland Effectively Legalizes 44 Crimes

Print comment Post Comments
The Oakland City Council voted on June 25 to layoff 80 police officers in order to close the city's 32.5 million budget funding gap. Oakland Police Chief Anthony Batts says if the officer layoffs take place, his officers will no longer respond to a list of 44 crimes. But, you can still let the police department know these crimes online! Maybe get a Tumblr and post photos of each crime as you are victimized?
