BP Hires Goldman Sachs

Print comment Post Comments
"In an attempt to create a consortium of the world's most popular companies, BP has hired financial advisers from several big banks, including Goldman Sachs. That's right, Goldman, Credit Suisse, and the Blackstone Group are all going to help embattled BP survive the oil spill. The New York Times reported the move Monday in a story on how 'concerns about BP's ability to meet all its obligations over the long haul—or even survive the crisis intact— are rattling the government, Gulf Coast residents and investors.' BP is less than thrilled about the revelation; on Tuesday a BP spokesman who's been taking speaking lessons from Sarah Palin refused to comment on 'who are our advisers and on what they are advising us.'"
